Description
PCGS 1848-O XF 45. A very scarce and largely underappreciated issue in the No Motto series. The '48-O is probably the worst struck O-mint ten from the 1840s. This piece shows blurry details on each side and the surfaces are bright and tinged with a light reddish patina. There are three parallel marks in the upper reverse field that serve as identifiers for pedigree purposes. Scarce in this grade and close to the lower end of the condition census. Trends $1,550 in XF 40, $6,000 in AU 50.
