Condition Census 1849 $10
1849 MS 63 PCGS. A fairly common No Motto ten until the grade level reaches mint state, where (like virtually every issue of this type) the supply drops off dramatically and even further diminishes at the choice level. This piece is bettered in quality only by the exceptional Warren Miller coin sold in October of last year. The rich golden surfaces almost match exactly the striking characteristics of that piece, being just a trifle soft on the centers, and are equally lustrous. There are a few scattered marks in the reverse field on this coin, sufficient enough to limit the grade. Population: 3 in 63, 1 higher (11/95).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2635, PCGS# 8601, GSID# 9369)
