Description
1850 $10 Large Date AU55 NGC. Ex: S.S. Republic. Untoned and luminous with a typical strike and a small number of left obverse abrasions. The S.S. Republic sank shortly after the Civil War ended, and took with a large number of Federal gold coins from the prior two decades. Those were well distributed by date and mint, unlike the S.S. Central America which mostly held 1857-S twenties.From The JTR Collection.(Registry values: N1793)
