Description1850 $10 Small Date AU55 NGC. The Small Date obverse is a bit scarcer than the Large Date; especially so in higher circulated grades. This piece is sharply struck at the centers, but most of the obverse stars lack their centrils. Examination finds moderate abrasions on both sides, although traces of luster survive in the protected areas. Identifiable by a scratch on Liberty's jaw that slips by close to her ear. Census: 14 in 55, 20 finer (5/09).
