Description1850-O $10 AU50 NGC. Variety 2. This issue is the first of a series of challenging 1850s New Orleans eagles. Most are seldom seen in XF45 condition, scarce in AU, and rare in Uncirculated grades. Although 57,000 pieces of the 1850-O eagle were minted, the issue is rarely available in AU condition and nearly unobtainable in Mint Sate. This olive-gold example has only a few scattered abrasions on its smooth surfaces. Traces of orange-gold mint luster remain.
