Description
1851 Liberty Eagle, AU58
More Available No Motto Date
1851 $10 AU58 PCGS. Because examples have been uncovered in
overseas sources over the last few decades, the 1851 has become a
more available date than it was in the past. However, it is not
easy to locate in properly graded AU58 and remains quite scarce in
Uncirculated condition. There are just two or three pieces known in
MS63 and a single coin has been graded MS64 by PCGS. This
well-preserved example has even orange-gold coloration and
significant luster remaining around the devices. Sharply struck in
the centers with slight softness noted on the peripheral stars.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2006), lot 3750; FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2008), lot 4405.
