Description
NGC 1852 AU 55. Much scarcer than one might imagine for a gold coin with a mintage of more than a quarter million pieces, and especially elusive in AU and better grades. Bright yellow-gold color, the central striking details are surprisingly strong with softer peripheries. Of the several marks on each side, the most prominent ones are one across the nose and another on the jaw of Liberty. Trends $1,250 in AU 50, $6,800 in MS 60.
