Choice AU 1853/2 Eagle
1853/2 $10 AU55 NGC. FS-301. The remnants of a 2 are distinct beneath the 3, but the Cherrypickers' fourth edition also mentions a rust spot beneath the R of LIBERTY that appears just to be in the process of forming on this piece. This is a no-questions example of the overdate, however, and certified as such by NGC, with two clear curving arcs within the bottom loop of the 3. The lustrous orange-gold surfaces show tinges of pinkish-orange around the peripheral elements.
