Gorgeous 1853/'2' Eagle, AU58
1853/'2' $10 AU58 NGC. CAC. FS-301. Numismatists disagree on exactly "what" is underneath the 3, hence the 1853/'2' designation on the NGC slab. Even so, the variety is listed in the Guide Book with no hedging or quotation marks. There is certainly the curve of something near the lower ball of the 3, and this near-Mint State example displays gorgeous eye appeal otherwise. The surfaces are relatively unperturbed, with flowing luster and a decent strike.
