1853/'2' Eagle, AU58
Cherrypicker's Dream, FS-301
1853/2 $10 AU58 NGC. FS-301. The lower curve and point of an
underdigit 2 appear within the 3. The overdate variety is still
occasionally found today, as the underdigit 2 is faint. A lovely
lightly circulated example, this near-Mint coin displays
yellow-gold surfaces, with subtle hints of rose and green also
present. Scattered marks appear on both sides, including a few on
Liberty's face that pose minimal distraction. NGC and PCGS combined
have awarded the AU58 grade to only 24 examples, with only three
coins achieving numerically finer grades from the two services
