1853/2 $10 AU58 PCGS. CAC. FS-301. The remnants of a numeral 2 are plainly visible within the lower loop of the 3. Discovered in 1960, the variety was initially believed to be extremely rare, but more examples have surfaced over the years. Still a rarity in grades approaching Mint State. This apricot-gold example has a generous band of luster across both peripheries. The strike is good and marks are relatively minor for the No Motto type. Population: 3 in 58, 1 finer (12/11).(Registry values: N2998)
