Scarce Near Mint 1853-O Eagle
1853-O $10 AU58 NGC. Crisply struck aside from a couple of the stars, this O-mint No Motto Eagle offers substantial prooflike luster and is not unduly abraded. No ring is present on the shield. In his 1992 reference New Orleans Gold Coins, 1838-1909, branch mint gold expert Douglas Winter opines, "The normal reverse coins are rare but they do exist."
