Description

1854 Ten Dollar, AU58
Rarely Seen Finer

1854 $10 AU58 NGC. The 1854 ten dollar, with a moderate mintage of 54,250 pieces, is not definably rare overall, but Mint State survivors are exceedingly so. This near-Mint example exhibits only slight high-point friction, with remnants of mint luster in the protected regions. As is typical of this issue, the stars are softly defined, though the central devices are well-struck. Light, scattered abrasions accompany the grade, but none are individually noteworthy. Census: 48 in 58 (1 in 58+), 13 finer (6/14).(Registry values: N1793)
