Description
Outstanding 1854 Eagle, MS61
1854 $10 MS61 NGC. An amazing survivor from a mintage that was limited to just 54,250 coins. As production got underway at the new San Francisco Mint, production figures of gold coins substantially decreased in Philadelphia. This boldly defined Mint State piece has brilliant lemon-yellow luster with a few minor abrasions and hairlines that are consistent with the grade. A lovely piece. Census: 5 in 61, 4 finer (2/10).Ex: Baltimore ANA Signature (Heritage, 8/2008), lot 3123, which realized $6,900.(Registry values: N4719)
