Choice AU 1854-O Small Date Ten
1854-O $10 Small Date AU55 NGC. Incorrectly designated as a Large Date on the NGC holder. Breen believed the Large Date was rarer, but Heritage auction records demonstrate there is only marginal difference in rarity between the two logotypes, which are identically priced in the 2008 Guide Book. Both varieties are scarce, since the combined mintage is just 52,500 pieces. This partly lustrous example lacks mentionable marks, and has an interesting die break within the hair above the ear.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28EC, PCGS# 8614, GSID# 9445)
