Small Date Variety
1854-O $10 Small Date AU58 NGC. Variety 1. The 1854-O Small
Date eagle splits a reported mintage of 52,500 pieces with its
Large Date counterpart. Traditionally, the Small Date was believed
to be the more available variety, but recent research by Doug
Winter suggests this is not true, especially in high grade. This
attractive near-Mint example is lightly worn and lightly abraded,
with pleasing lustrous surfaces. Census: 35 in 58, 2 finer
