Lovely 1854-S Eagle, AU58
1854-S $10 AU58 NGC. The San Francisco Mint began operating in 1854, striking a small number of quarter eagles and half eagles, along with a substantial production of eagles and double eagles. This light yellow example is boldly detailed with nearly full luster. The reverse is extensively cracked through the legend, with a small triangular die chip over the left side of the M.
