Description
PCGS 1854-S AU 50. Although one of the more frequently encountered No Motto tens, the 1854-S is a significantly rarer coin in AU than its otherwise "common date" status might indicate. No mint state examples have been graded by PCGS (1/25) and only 1 coin has been certified in a higher state of AU than this piece (AU 55) while 8 others have been graded AU 50. This is a lustrous, well struck coin whose only distracting blemish is a horizontal mark on the upper cheek of Liberty just below the eye. Trends $3400 (1/25).
