Choice AU 1854-S

1854-S AU 55 PCGS. One of the more common dates in the No Motto series, the '54-S is generally only available in VF and XF condition. In AU grades it is a significantly rarer coin than its otherwise "common date" status might indicate. To date (7/95) only one mint state piece has been certified by the combined staffs of PCGS and NGC. This is an extraordinarily clean piece that has even orange-gold color over both sides, and a strong strike throughout.
