Scarce Underrated Issue
1855-O $10 AU50 NGC. Variety 2. From a mintage of just
18,000 pieces, the 1855-O Liberty eagle is an underrated issue with
a surviving population of 80-90 examples in all grades. This
attractive AU specimen retains much of its original mint luster and
the pleasing yellow-gold surfaces are lightly abraded. The
well-detailed design elements show a touch of wear on the high
points. Census: 15 in 50, 46 finer (3/20).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2013), lot 4804.(Registry values: N4719)
