Challenging New Orleans Issue
1855-O $10 AU50 PCGS. Winter-1. One die pairing is known for
the 1855-O eagle, which has a mintage of only 18,000 pieces. Mint
State examples of this date are prohibitively rare, and AU coins
are themselves scarce throughout the AU spectrum. This piece
displays uniform orange-gold surfaces with smooth, lightly worn
texture. Some debris build up around the relief elements attests to
the originality of the patina. Population: 19 in 50, 26 finer
