Rarely Seen Any Finer
1856-S $10 AU58 NGC. Large S Mintmark. From a mintage of
68,000 pieces, the 1856-S Liberty eagle is definitely a scarce
issue at the AU58 grade level, and Mint State examples are
virtually unobtainable. This impressive near-Mint example exhibits
just a trace of friction on the high points of the design elements
and the pleasing orange-gold surfaces show the expected number of
minor abrasions for the grade. Census: 51 in 58 (2 in 58+), 6 finer
