Description
Choice AU 1856-S Liberty Ten
1856-S $10 AU55 PCGS. Considerable satin luster still adheres to both sides of this lightly rubbed, lightly abraded example. The finish is predominantly satiny in texture, modest brightness is seen in the fields. A sharply struck, conditionally scarce survivor from an original mintage of just 68,000 coins. The 1856-S is more difficult to locate than the 1854-S among pre-1879 S-mint Eagles.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 263S, PCGS# 8621, GSID# 9451)
