1857 $10 AU55 NGC. Lightly abraded surfaces are consistent with the grade of this Choice AU example. Both sides have satiny surfaces with hints of reflectivity in the fields. This is an important opportunity for the specialist, as a number of lower grade pieces have survived from the 16,606 coin mintage, but relatively few AU55 or finer pieces are known. Census: 24 in 55, 25 finer (8/16).Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage Auctions, 1/2007), lot 6061.
