1857 Eagle, AU58
A Series Sleeper
1857 $10 AU58 NGC. Many of the No Motto eagles are condition
rarities, and issues such as the 1857 are rarely given proper
consideration as rare dates. Just 16,606 examples of this issue
were minted, and the average certified grade of survivors is less
than AU50. This nicely detailed near-Mint specimen has nearly full
luster with frosty yellow surfaces. A few scattered marks are
present, none of any consequence. The design motifs show slight
