Description

1857 Liberty Ten, AU58
Only Four Numerically Finer Examples

1857 $10 AU58 NGC. The eagles from the 1857 Philadelphia mintage experienced heavy circulation. The issue was the smallest since 1845, consisting of only 16,606 coins. This near-Mint example displays deep yellow-gold color, with hints of orange and green. Scattered marks pose limited distraction, if any, on this piece retaining areas of luster.
