1857-S Eagle, AU50
About 100 Coins Exist
1857-S $10 AU50 PCGS. The availability of the 1857-S eagle
bears no resemblance to that of its bigger brother, the double
eagle. Only 26,000 coins were struck, and PCGS CoinFacts estimates
100 pieces exist. This AU50 example showcases pleasing detail and
attractive red-gold color. A series of reeding marks appears in the
upper reverse field. Encapsulated in a green label holder.
