Near-Mint 1857-S Eagle
Low Mintage, Low Survival Rate
1857-S $10 AU58 NGC. From a small mintage of 26,000 pieces,
the 1857-S eagle also has a low survival rate, making the issue
rare in all grades. The present coin is an attractive near-Mint
specimen, sharply detailed in most areas, with just the slightest
trace of high-point rub. The pleasing greenish-gold fields display
areas of prooflike reflectivity. Census: 7 in 58, 0 finer
