Choice AU 1858-S Eagle
Low-Mintage S-Mint Issue
1858-S $10 AU55 NGC. Produced in only the fourth full year
of operations at the branch mint in San Francisco, the 1858-S eagle
saw a limited mintage of only 11,800 coins, most of which clearly
circulated. The average certified survivor only grades XF40 or so.
This Choice AU example offers mellow sunset-orange coloration over
still-lustrous surfaces that show a few moderate abrasions, none
