Description
1858-S XF 40 Cleaned. The '58-S is a rare issue that is, in fact, comparable to the more famous 1858 (but nowhere near as well known). The original mintage was an impressively low 11,800 pieces, and it is seldom located in any grade. Akers rated the '58-S in the top 10 percent of the entire series in rarity according to frequency of appearance in auction. While cleaned and particularly bright in appearance, this piece displays honest XF detail and is without serious marks.
