Description
Scarce, High Grade 1858-S Ten, AU50
1858-S $10 AU50 Lightly Cleaned Uncertified. The '58-S Eagle is a very rare issue in the No Motto series, whose overall scarcity is comparable to its Philadelphia counterpart. Only 11,800 pieces were produced and Akers rated the '58-S in the top 10% of the entire series in rarity according to frequency of appearance in auction. The striking details are somewhat soft, as usually seen on this issue, and there is minimal evidence of cleaning on either side. The only mark of any consequence is a nick on the jawline of Liberty next to the juncture of the jawline and the neck.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 263Y, PCGS# 8627, GSID# 9455)
