Seldom Offered 1858-S Ten Dollar
1858-S $10 AU53 NGC. From an original mintage of just 11,800 pieces comes this minimally worn, partially lustrous eagle. This is a colorful example with reddish-gold overtones on both sides. Although lightly abraded, the surfaces are remarkably smooth for a circulated eagle from the early frontier era. The 1858-S is an underrated rarity that is more difficult to locate than the three previous S-mint deliveries in the series.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 263Y, PCGS# 8627, GSID# 9455)
