Description
1859-S Eagle, XF45
Low-Mintage Condition Rarity
1859-S $10 XF45 PCGS. Only 7,000 Liberty eagles were minted
in San Francisco in 1859, despite a shipment of six obverse dies
from Philadelphia that suggested a much larger anticipated mintage.
Higher grade circulated examples are rare, and Mint State coins are
unknown. This Choice XF piece is housed in a green-label PCGS
holder and exhibits considerable muted yellow-gold luster with
delicate rose overtones. Population: 8 in 45, 12 finer (1/18).From The Admiral Collection. (Registry values: N2998)
