Description

Condition Rarity 1860 Ten Dollar, MS61

1860 $10 MS61 NGC. Rounded bun subtype. Only 15,055 ten dollar business strikes were produced at the Philadelphia Mint in 1860. All Mint State specimens are exceptional rarities. Indeed, NGC and PCGS combined have certified just 12 Uncirculated pieces, mostly in MS60 and MS61. The yellow-gold surfaces of this MS61 example exhibit well struck design elements, save for softness in the centers of the top-most stars. Distributed minuscule marks result in only minor interruptions in the luster flow. Census: 3 in 61, 0 finer (7/09).(Registry values: N4719)
