Description
Bright AU53 1860-O Ten Dollar
1860-O $10 AU53 ANACS. Another low mintage No Motto Ten, only 11,100 pieces were struck of the 1860-O. A few nice AU 1860-O Eagles have surfaced over the past decade, which would suggest the existence of a possible small hoard of this issue, probably from Jackson, Tennessee. However, it is still an important condition rarity with only 12-13 pieces believed to exist in AU. Well struck except around the peripheral stars, the coin is bright with some reflectivity still evident in the fields and the green-gold surfaces show a rich overlay of reddish-coppery color. A few shallow field marks are present on each side, the most notable one runs parallel to Liberty's nose.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2645, PCGS# 98631, GSID# 9458)
