    Description

    Very Rare 1860-S Eagle VF35

1860-S $10 VF35 PCGS. The 1860-S is an unheralded but formidable rarity within the Liberty eagle series. It is rarer than any Carson City or New Orleans issue of the denomination. In this decade, only one other PCGS example has appeared in a Heritage auction, back in June of 2004. The present piece has green-gold toning and smooth, cloudy surfaces. The wings and hair exhibit wear appropriate for the grade. Just 5,000 pieces were struck. Population: 3 in 35, 13 finer (11/07).(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2646, PCGS# 8632)

    Weight: 16.72 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
