1861 $10 AU58 NGC. Bulging Bun subtype. The 1861 is the most collectible ten dollar issue from its decade. Likely, the higher mintage was due to the Civil War, just as the Mexican-American War had increased production in 1847. This example has glowing peripheral luster and a few small marks on the face.(Registry values: N991)
