1861 Ten Dollar, MS62
Attractive, Rare in Mint State
1861 $10 MS62 PCGS. Bulging Bun subtype. Original,
greenish-gold surfaces are lustrous and only lightly abraded,
making this sharply struck Mint State example an excellent
opportunity for ten dollar gold and Civil War era collectors alike.
The issue was hoarded during the Civil War, and a portion of the
mintage was exported. Either way, survivors seldom exceed the MS62
grade conditionally rare date. A highly sought No Motto issue for
type. Population: 13 in 62 (1 in 62+), 6 finer (2/20).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2647, PCGS# 8633, GSID# 9382)
