Description
Scarce 1861-S Eagle, VF30
1861-S $10 VF30 NGC. Hints of luster cling to this orange and chestnut patinated Civil War-era ten. The obverse marks are entirely inconsequential, and traces of verdigris in the protected areas lend originality. The 1861-S is rare in all grades, unsurprisingly so given its low mintage of 15,500 pieces. Census: 1 in 30, 76 finer (6/09).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2648, PCGS# 8634, GSID# 9460)
