1861-S Ten Dollar, XF45
Low-Mintage, Low Availability in All Grades
1861-S $10 XF45 PCGS. The 1861-S ten dollar is another
overlooked and underappreciated rarity in the No Motto series. Only
15,500 pieces were struck, and it is estimated that a mere 70 to 90
coins are extant in all grades (including a single MS61, the finest
known). This is a pleasing, problem-free Choice XF that is
minimally abraded for the grade. The strike details are slightly
soft over the high points, as sometimes seen on this issue.From The Admiral Collection. (Registry values: N2998)
