Not Sold Description
1862 AU 53 NGC. A very rare date in the No Motto series and one that is prohibitively rare in AU condition. This date is so elusive that the rare proofs are easier to locate than high grade business strikes. This piece has decent luster for the grade and is well struck, but the surfaces are extensively abraded with a couple of reeding marks on the obverse. Population: 3 in AU 53, 4 finer (6/96).
