1862-S $10 XF40 NGC. The recent PCGS survival estimate of the 1862-S eagle is only 60 to 80 coins, a figure with which auction data generally agrees. The issue is almost unknown in Mint State and seldom found in any other grade. This piece displays pleasing detail for the grade and faintly luminous olive-gold patina.
