1863 $10 -- Harshly Cleaned -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details.
Green-gold surfaces cover devices that exhibit razor-sharp
definition on both sides. Moderate abrasions are present
throughout. The 1863 is a classic rarity in the eagle series, with
just 1,248 minted; a low figure even by eagle standards. All gold
denominations saw massive declines in production in 1862, with
further decreases in 1863. The culprit was the suspension of gold
payments at par at the beginning of 1862, significantly reducing
demand for gold coins.
