    Description

    Choice XF 1863-S Eagle
    Solidly Struck and Rare

1863-S $10 XF45 PCGS. Like many Civil War gold issues, the 1863-S eagle was a low-mintage coin that today is rare and difficult to find in any problem-free condition. This Choice XF example shows medium orange-gold surfaces with deeper amber accents near the rims. A few small- to medium-sized abrasions appear, including a couple of scrapes on Liberty's cheek and chin, and a horizontal mark below the date. Much detail remains on both sides despite 15 points of wear, indicating a solid strike. Population: 7 in 45, 8 finer (9/12).(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 264C, PCGS# 8638)

    Weight: 16.72 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper

Had we endeavored to sell it without your support, it would have taken us at least 10 lifetimes, i.e. it would have been impossible.
