Sharply Struck 1866 Motto Eagle, AU55
1866 $10 AU55 NGC. The first year of With Motto gold coins, the 1866 With Motto is the only Philadelphia entry for the year as all No Motto pieces were struck at San Francisco. This example, from a mintage of only 3,750 coins, is rarely seen in any grade. This lovely Choice AU specimen shows design motifs that are well-executed.
