1866 Liberty Eagle, AU53
Low-Mintage, First Year With Motto
1866 $10 Motto, AU53 PCGS. The design of the Liberty eagle
was modified in 1866 to include the motto IN GOD WE TRUST on the
reverse and the Philadelphia Mint struck a minuscule total of 3,750
business-strike examples. This attractive AU53 specimen retains
much of its original design detail and mint luster, with a
scattering of small-to-medium sized abrasions that define the
