Description
Seldom Offered 1866-S No Motto Eagle
1866-S No Motto VF 30. The 1866-S No Motto is one of the rarest issues in the entire series of Coronet tens, of which only the 1864-S and 1875 are seen with less frequency. Its original mintage of 8,500 pieces does not begin to convey the true scarcity. This piece displays a slight reddish caste and is quite well struck. Only a few minor fields marks are found on either side, along with a noticeable scrape on the reverse rim.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 264H, PCGS# 8644, GSID# 9466)
