Not Sold Description
Choice XF 1866-S No Motto Eagle
1866-S No Motto XF 45 PCGS. Another important Liberty ten-dollar from the October, 1995 Long Beach Sale and quite possibly a Warren Miller coin (three '66-S No Mottos were offered.) There it was described: "An extremely rare Coronet ten whose original mintage of 8,500 pieces does not begin to convey the true scarcity of this date....This piece is a bit softly struck, as were the few other examples we have seen in the past. The reddish-golden surfaces show very few field marks, but a couple of smaller abrasions are noticeably located on the face of Liberty. A small, dark spot is seen on the obverse rim between stars 6 and 7 (also a larger one just above star 10), and another, large one, covers the denticles below T(EN) on the reverse." Population: 5 in 45, 2 higher (4/97).Ex: Long Beach Sale (Heritage, 10/95), lot 6336.
