Low-Mintage Rarity

1867-S $10 AU53 NGC. Crisply struck except for the centers of a few lower stars. The portrait is moderately abraded, and the fields are clean for the AU53 grade. A mere 9,000 pieces were struck. AU examples are significant rarities, and only three coins have been certified in Mint State grades by NGC and PCGS combined. Census: 5 in 53, 5 finer (11/10).
