Only 50 to 75 Coins Extant
1867-S $10 XF45 PCGS. PCGS CoinFacts estimates that just 50
to 75 examples of the 1867-S ten dollar gold piece survive. The San
Francisco Mint had originally struck 9,000 examples, all but a few
dozen of which have been lost to time. Orange-gold surfaces exhibit
peppered abrasions and rub consistent with some time spent in the
channels of Western commerce. Population: 5 in 45, 18 finer
