Description

1867-S Eagle, XF45
Only 50 to 75 Coins Extant

1867-S $10 XF45 PCGS. PCGS CoinFacts estimates that just 50 to 75 examples of the 1867-S ten dollar gold piece survive. The San Francisco Mint had originally struck 9,000 examples, all but a few dozen of which have been lost to time. Orange-gold surfaces exhibit peppered abrasions and rub consistent with some time spent in the channels of Western commerce. Population: 5 in 45, 18 finer (12/23).(Registry values: N2998)
